Amid reports and quasi non-answers from Sony and Microsoft about whether the Xbox One and Playstation 4 will be able to play used or rented games, Redbox posted this  hours before E3 and Microsoft and Sony’s press conferences on Monday.

The future of video gaming is being decided this week, as amazing new game consoles are beginning to be unveiled. Industry experts are talking right now about the potential features and benefits of these new consoles.

Have you heard about what’s coming? Reports say that Microsoft’s Xbox One and Sony’s PlayStation 4 might have enhanced graphics, enhanced motion control, cloud-based storage, new games and experiences. But you might not be able to play without an Internet connection, lend games freely, buy used games or rent games.

We want to provide a forum for you to talk about what excites you about the future of gaming… and what concerns you.

This kind of negative publicity right before a major console unveiling is not good for Microsoft and Sony.  They really need to think hard about what their next move is going to be.  Limiting gamers freedom to play their legally bought games how and where they want is not the way to go.  Nintendo has a long history of battling piracy, but you don’t hear them mentioning a peep about limiting the ways gamers can legally get their hands on games for their systems, nor will you hear them talking about it.  Don’t do this!
